A schoolboy named Joe arrives home to find a package waiting for him. It is a gaming console, which he immediately begins to play. As he plays he becomes consumed, losing track of time. At school Joe feels drained and cannot concentrate. Joe's friend, Cameron, notices how pale he looks as well as the two small cuts on Joe’s hands where he has been clasping the game controller. But Joe does not care. Despite an urge to stay away from the console, he cannot resist playing through the night once again. Although he grows weaker, his addiction, and the insatiable appetite of the console for Joe’s blood, compel him to play on.
