Raylaine Hendricks grew up in the Harfield District of Cape Town, which in 1969 was designated as a “Whites Only” area. All non-white residents were forcibly relocated: communities disrupted, friends and families split apart.
This remarkable woman is one of the few coloured residents who were courageous enough to defy the Apartheid government and refused to move from the area she had grown up in. This documentary short succinctly explores this celebrated woman’s struggle against a racist government.
