How To Fly A Kite
Submitted by paultrillo on Thu, 01/20/2011 - 10:30
How To Fly A Kite is about a delusional man, Toby, who believes he has been given special information from an alien race. He needs a platform to get this information out, so decides to start a cult. He becomes the cult leader but has trouble gaining members and remains the only member. He states 'We are one member strong and growing.'
Toby's ideas sound crazy but he believes strongly in them. He says there is an impending alien invasion by the Hamitars. The Hamitars are the original creators of the hamburger, which resemble their spacecrafts. It all seems to derive from Toby's imagination but it gives him solace. He is afraid of the outside world.
The film is humorous with modesty. The heart of the film is about how we all create our own realities and perceptions of the world. Each perspective is unique to the individual, neither right or wrong.
