Haiti Earthquake 2010
Submitted by Raymond Delon Poh on Sat, 12/18/2010 - 10:30
This is a documentary produced during my 2 trips to Haiti early 2010. I shot the entire HD video with Canon EOS DSLR 5DmkII and mostly handheld throughout and edited it through Adobe Premiere Pro. Though I went to Sichuan, China to feature the earthquake in 2008, however, this time I truly experienced 2 major shakes, it was really an unforgettable chapter in my life. I wanted to show the aftermath condition and its effect upon the lifestyle of the Haitians. I seen the dead body, the hunger suffered, the cried of the orphans, the rescue of the injured, and many more who are still seeking for helping hand today. In the middle of the film, I included a footage of a kid being restless and helpless, it is just a symbolic representing the weakness of the general people. Though I experienced the real life situation just as the Haitians, I believe together with them that there is still hope for rebuilding the nation once again. Canon Singapore has acknowledged this work as well.
