Synopsis: An intimate conversation between a teenage couple is played out directly to camera. As we look into their eyes and faces we begin to see hidden motives at play, far removed from the naively idealized surface… is it all just an ACT?

Film Detail: ACT is about the mask we put on for people, even those close to us. We hide our true feelings and motivations and conform to ‘types’, the caricatures that people wish to see and that we see in return. I wanted to challenge the audience and their preconceptions about intimacy and cinematic ‘truth’. The film is essentially an homage to the great Lev Kuleshov, who epitomised the beautiful lie that is cinema through his montage theory.
